So I try something B&W, and finally I understand why B&W so charming. Because, with color, there are too many aspects distractive and out of control. With B&W, it is concentrated and controlled. It sounds like compromising, you cut down a dimension, simplify it, so that to be artistic. But yes, it's charming. Everyone, everything looks more beautiful.
And I think in this way, the major facts are: shapes, texture, light. Especially texture, 质感。And good focus is the basis of textrue. You have no color as an execuse to cover up mistakes. Of course, you also won't have mistakes in color, ;)

Most of all I like the b&w effect in the 'egg seller' pictures. The Eggs look so smooth and cool, like stone. (- While I definitely prefer the 'Hey, your goose'-pic in colour).
Many years ago I used to draw/paint b&w pictures only and prefered b&w photography. Later I discovered colour. Both of them have their own, very different appeals. Sometimes colour detracts from the picture's content - but sometimes colour is the essence of the picture.
Interesting question: what is real? It depends on how you process the light with your camera / whithg your eye / in your memory. Sometimes a b&w photo can be more 'real' than a coloured.

Yes, 'egg seller' is the one most sharp because she has a light directly overhead. Most of the market is dim and I didn't find a way to make my camera work quick and sharp there.
What is real? When I think of memory, interestingly it looks mostly B&W style. Is it because color easy to fade? Or just because time washes out all contricated details, only a shape left over?
It's so hard to recall a color, no matter how brilliant it was, inevitably it blurs, adulterated until it's finally a cliche.
Maybe it's different for different people.
Sounds like: Do you dream with colors?
