Day 6 - Botanic Garden

Saturday we totally tired out. When thunder raining in the morning, I am very happy to hear the 'clark' for that means keep on sleeping.
That afternoon we began to walk towards botanic garden. It is big. With the very slow speed, about 6 hours later, we only cover near half of it. Sunshine is very strong, feet ache, so we give up the idea of walking back, jump onto a bus to nowhere and luckly get back straight.
Body tired of long walking, eyes tired of color competing flowers, 审美极度疲劳, 被乱花彻底迷了眼.

1.Street side flower

2. also common on street
-----
Wrightia antidysenterica, wild water plum
origin: Thailand & Malaysia

3. I noticed 2 kinds often habitat on the tree. One is the funny fern I posted days before. The other is this one. At first I think it's just weeds. On the way to botanic garden, I see it's blossoming - it is orchid!
-----
Dendrobium crumenatum 台湾杯鞘石斛, pigeon orchid (really, like pigeon)
orgin: South China ( ha!:-D), IndoChina (? where is it,从来都没搞清楚印度支那到底指哪里), Malay Peninsula
Ah! I regret very much now, according to the book, if take a side view of the flower, it is just a tiny white bird!

closeup, the orchid

4. palm's red fruits

5. a bee comb in weeds. The shape is very strange, nothing related to hexagon. Instead, it is a very abstract curl style.

6. the beautiful palm with red stem. I am impressed by this entrance plant. Later I found it is exactly the logo of Singapore Botanic Garden

7. air root hanging down

8 cute blue green fruits

9. Oh, this tree shaddow is great. It's huge and low, a chair hide inside. When setting under, people out side can hardly see you. So cool from the outside sunshine. I love it.

10. see? the botanic garden logo on chair. For quite long time I wonder, what's hanging down at the middle. Parastic orchid or fern? Ah, so special. Or it's fruit? Later I think most likely the fruit, this idea is not interesting.

Also funny, it turns out lots of little tortoise swimming in the pond, instead of fish. Yes, there is fish, in the deeper water.

11. the flower still with rain drops
----
Pachystachys coccinea, Cardinal's Guard
origin: Northern South America through West Indies

the full shape

ah, this little cool guy. He's busy eating banana, eat something on end first.

Then run back to main bananas.
So happy to see he and his friend. Later we meet his friend on fence, that one runing, stop, runing, stop on the top of fence, very cute and very close.

12. no worries, hopefully I will get all names for them, because I got a very helpful book: 1001 gardening plants in Singapore. :)

------
Get it: Globba pendula, origin: Penisular Malaysia & SG

13. Again the instereting fern. This time it hangs down from cave ceiling
