Schwetzingen

Saturday one customer is from Schwetzingen and I can't help thinking of that big garden, yes, I've been there. Sometimes it is just interesting enough to think about those places far far away, a place you know something and more of it you don't know.
I don't know what bussiness they do, only recognize 'Neckar-Rhein'. This reminds me the German Pass, on the back it prints the ticket also covers some boats on Neckar-Rhein. But till the last minute, I didn't make to try it.
Everything goes fine. It is just good enough when you think, ah, there...

The board on the street. I shot it with the intention to make out what it says. So at that time, I am not so happy with the strong reflection. But now I see it is nice with the street houses in it because at last I didn't read the words at all.

The interesting sculpture, a lady selling asparagus, should be long long time ago. I wondered why she only sells asparagus (or is it asparagus?) Later I see Denise cook green and white asparagus, so it is.

Just beside the sculpture, the live version of vegetable market.

looks like begonia, o yes, it is written there

People buying fruits, strange, quite some dogs have no tail

Yes, the lady in the sculpture is selling asparagus - it is the typical vegetable of this region.
The dog without tail: it was a kind of 'dog fashion' to cut both tail and ears. It is forbidden in Germany since 1997.

Funny, I never have been in this garden in Schwetzingen. To view it I had to wait for your photos ;-) When I see the 'grass land' picture , music comes to my mind: Brian Eno, 'another green world'.

The word on the sunshade is 'Regenbogen' = rainbow (advertisement for a radiostation with that name).
The curiously looking peacock might think: 'You claim to be a rainbow? - Huh, I'm much more colourful than you!'

Yesterday at lunch, one guy just discussed with us about 'the perspective of traveller and resident is different'. :) I suppose quite some local people won't go to those turist attraction spots. I just don't go Pearl Tower in Shanghai or the big gardens in my hometown, maybe will never if not to show my friends arround. O, for a resident, it just sounds not interesting at all, besides, the enterance fee is so high that makes the idea even more stupid. ;p

And on the other hand, carry a tourist's eye may be very helpful. When we are back from Singapore, Georgia thought out a very nice advertise words for our pictures: For those have been to SG, you may think you've never been; for those never, as if you have.
:-D We are very good at praising ourself.
At the same time, this idea comes in: maybe we should look at our daily life with an eye of tourist, to discover the beauty.

Yes, I like the grass land very much. Actually it looks more beautiful than my photo. It is on the back of a summerhouse with a golden god sculpture in, in front of the house is the fountain with two goddess sculptures and some deer sculptures.

So it is rainbow, I didn't know I made such a good shot. :D

Actually, I've 'almost' visited this garden in Schwetzingen.
While writing my diploma thesis (2001), the institute planned its annual works outing to some sights in the surrounding. Unfortunately I had a stomach flu and couldn't take part.
I also would have had a beer in this 'Brauhauskeller'on your last photo.
It seems to be fate who wanted me to wait for your photos ;-))
