I don't know from when, there's a saying: if you touch the hands or feet of Budha, you will be lucky. At least, I didn't know that when I was in Hangzhou last year.
At that time, all budha are quite normal, they don't have a hand so smooth by thousands of touch.
And more funny, this rule is expanded, some of my pious people also try some more places -- look the chin of this Budha, and the jaw...
:D

Two squirrels. When mankind are busy worshiping Buddha, they run after each other up and down happily on the big tree. They have very big fluffy tail, the same length as their body. Sorry, they are too fast, this picture only makes them look like big rats..
Ah, funny squirrels. Let you people do all these things nonsense, praying to Buddha, walking arround aimless, or gathering arround us screaming stupidly and shooting with cameras, we squirrels just enjoy our time.

My mind strays away, looking at the quiet bright spring outside of the window, stepping on the doorsill, and people all crowd in the temple room.
A guider is explaining to his tourists: ...if you step in temple with left foot first, you will... If with right one first.... Never ever step ON the doorsill!
They all look at doorsill. So I get down at once.
So my picture blurs.

When I am idle, I begin to examine the relievo on the two old stone towers.
So beautiful.
She has a swing waist, a charming hand pose.
Yes, she's on duty, very responsible, garding the doors for Budha, for hundreds maybe thousands of years. But it doesn't stop her showing a little letitude when standing on lotus. Of course if you want to break into the tower gate, she will try to stop you, with slowly persuasion, kind explaination, very verbose, and end with 'my dear, it is so hard to get in, why not give up and back to your peaceful easy life?'
It is also so interesting to see her full stomach. So, at that time a round stomach is regarded as beautiful. Em, what a good idea, at least it is very comfortable in that way.

those looks outside-from-within are VERY hard to capture in a picture.
the problem is the extreme high contrast between inside and outside.

the best way is to use a flash to lighten up the interior part.

another way might be to use two pictures: one to adjust for the exterior, one for the interior. tripod is a MUST, cuz you must not move camera between taking the two shots.
afterwards, you need to assemble the two shots in some image processing program (GIMP, photoshop ...)
i tried some time, but i found the method very tedious ...

  so, maybe better try flashing.

one more note on contrast: human eye easily covers contrast that chemical film is not able to get. and digital sensors are even less capable!
best results can be expected with fuji super ccd sr sensors, but even those are not yet satisfying

  more regards
