Since Apr. 1, People Park is free. Now spring is flowering in it. Wisteria has a nice soap fragrance, I wonder wether it is the same soap as Linden? :)

I can't tell what it is, cypress or pine? is budding

It's of no good to have a park with entrance fee. Now everybody happy, old people gather here and enjoy themselves in this restless city center.

The clear blue at dusk

I love the picture with the bonsai in spotlight. So much beauty, it almost hurts.

(Now I see, it is no bonsai. Nevertheless beautiful.)
The picture inside the Viburnum inflorescence is great.

i like it. want to walk SH roads again!

a word on moon: the eye is able to compensate an extremely high dark/light contrast, compared to camera. in order to get the moon right, you need to expose like a standard picture in summer noon ... which renders the rest of the picture almost completely black.
so - no way to take a (one) picture that catches the impression of the eye.
maybe take two and combine later? (yes, it's a fake then ...)

  happy faking, and nice regards

Tonight I took a picture of the full moon with cherry blossoms

- no fake :-) but it looks a bit kitchy.
Just finished the new lychnis diary page.

Hi Denise, yes, it's full moon on weekends. That's a great photo. The flowers look more like an complicated story than just flowers themselves. I like it. How did you do that?
Let me check more...

O, I like the turbulent alb water at night, st. george fountain, moon behind st. martin's church, lamps and reflections at the castle, broken lamp glass...
Em, so good this night set.

Hm, ...how did I do that?
There are some cherry trees and lanterns in front of the castle. I first got attentive to the cherry blossoms in the yellow light, when, suddenly, I saw the moon through the branches.
I leant against the pole of a lantern (substitute tripod). Automatic exposure + white balance; nothing special. It took me four attempts to get this picture.

Looking at it now, Guiseppe Arcimboldo's paintings come to my mind (e.g. 'Winter') ,

Winter
and I recognize a weird bird with blue eye and white pupill.
Ha, like a Rohrschach test: 'Look at this ink blot, what do you see? - Aha, you feel threatened by a rooster??' ;-)
(Now it recurs me - it's year of the rooster, isn't it?)

(no, correction: three attempts of moon + cherry blossoms.)

Your Platanus-pictures have such beautiful colours, especially the first one ('The clear blue at dusk'). Interesting to see that you have also Platanus acerifolia. It is supposed to be a hybrid between Platanus orientalis (Oriental Planetree, from South-East Europe and West-Asia) and Platanus occidentalis (American Planetree- the 'real' Sycamore). We have lots of Platanus acerifolia in Ettlingen.

Wisteria I know from the garden of my parents, it was growing along the balcony. The fragrance is different from the fragrance of linden and less intensive.

We also have Paulownia in the Park, but I've never seen the blossoms in clusters like on your picture, very impressive :-)

Actually I am not so sure it is Platanus acerifolia, or maybe it is Platanus orientalis... We call it French Platanus. It is a common street tree, in spring get the yellow seed with fur floating in air. And when summer begins, a lot of catepillars on it (with loong green fur on back and bright red stripe). So many of them that they fall from the tree and drop onto the paveway, of course, a lot of them crashed under shoes. Ah, that is a bad time, very bad time, imagine if one just fall into your collar when you passing by... Their furs will really hurt you. This worries me a lot.
Platanus in Nanjing is very very impressive. They are all very old trees with high high straight up branches, pointing to the sky.

Paulownia is good, every spring I see it flowering above the roofs in my hometown.

O, yes, that's a wild big bird eye...

As far as I can see on your photos the leaves of 'your' Platanus have the 'acerifolia'-shape. The leaves of P. oriantalis have deeper cuts and logner + more lobes.
Let me find a picture... here

What does my book tell.. now I remember. Platanus acerifolia is - in contrast to P. orientalis - very robust, not sensitive against air pollusion. And it is hardy, whereas P. orientalis has a problem with frost and therefore is not planted in Middle Europe. Ah, I see, P. orientalis is planted in South Italy and Himalaya, often near waters.
The description of the caterpillar sounds creepy. Maybe an umbrella would help... or a huge straw hat. I have one, it would be perfect:

anti-caterpillar-hat
;-)

O Great, I see your new updates! Those beautiful small flowers!
Yes yes, we also have birdeye speedwell here. But I never know its name. Get it now: 波斯婆婆纳, well, it's not a real meaningful name, so it is imigrated.
And so beautiful forget-me-not, that's quite different from what I see in shop...
Em, common chickwee 繁缕(多好的名字啊), also see them here...
  So nice!!

Hey! The caterpillars have to fallen down after the gardeners spray the medicine water onto all these Palatanus street by street. The poor worms are dead or dead-to-be.
Denise, do you know if the dead or close to dead caterpillars are still poisonous when their hairs brush your skin?

Yes, the hair of dead caterpillars is still poisonous, sometimes up to one year! The poison is stored in a cave inside of each hair, so even hair without caterpillar might harm you.
And I'm afraid, insectizide won't make it any healthier... :-p
